Pride in the Job winners announced

As everyone in the housebuilding industry is aware, the NHBC Pride in the Job awards ceremony celebrates some of the best UK Site Managers on the quality of their schemes. In 2022 443 out of around 8,000 site managers have managed to get themselves a Quality Award representing the top 5%, congratulating them on their commitment to delivering top quality new build homes.

The NHBC launched the Pride in the Job more than four years ago and is considered the most highly regarded competition in the industry, a prestigious benchmark for ambitious and exceptional site managers.

The judging takes nearly an entire year. Each competitor goes through a rigorous process surrounding six key areas: attention to detail, consistency, leadership skills, health and safety, and technical expertise alongside their understanding of the drawings and specifications. Thousands of site inspections had been taking place to come to the final decision of who deserves to win.

Featuring three different categories for whether you are a small, medium or large business and another class for high rise projects above five storeys or more for multiple occupancies.

The finale of the competition will be revealed in Jan 2023, where they will award the winners that were put forward for the Seal of Excellence, Regional Awards and the national Supreme Award.

NHBC’s ceo Steve Wood said: “For more than 40 years, Pride in the Job has been an important part of our work to help drive construction quality. Winning site managers tell us that it inspires them to give a little extra and to strive harder for ever-higher standards in housebuilding. “

“At NHBC we believe that the calibre of the site manager and the way they inspire their site team has the greatest influence on the quality of the finished home. By promoting friendly rivalry, showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence, Pride in the Job supports the delivery of homes of the highest quality. “
