OBE Awarded to Hill Group CEO, Andy Hill

Kicking of the year with a bang, the Founder and CEO of Hill Group, Andy Hill, has been awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours list.

His continued service over the past 20 years to provide affordable housing throughout Cambridge and the South of England meant he become the ‘partner of choice’ for many local authorities and housing associations. Add this to the accolade of being Medium Housebuilder of the Year at the 2022 Housebuilder Awards.

In 2019, Andy Hill marked the company’s 20th anniversary by launching their Foundation 200 scheme, which has now turned into a £15million charitable programme and provides purpose-built homes to homelessness charities to supply much needed accommodation people who would otherwise be homeless. An amazing way to give back to the community and support those in need.

Hill Group took a 50% stake in Volumetric Modular Ltd, a start up design and manufacturing business, in order to construct and supply these unique homes, designed for the individual person.

The group is still growing and is to become the second largest private housebuilder in the UK, delivering more than 2,300 homes in 2022, with intentions to turnover £1.2billion by 2025 and expansions into the South West.

“It is a great honour to be recognised in the first New Year Honours List under the reign of His Majesty King Charles III.

Housebuilding has been my lifelong passion and throughout my career I have truly believed that well designed, well-constructed homes and neighbourhoods can be transformational to people’s lives. This is especially true in the affordable housing space where I take great pride in the estate regeneration and affordable housing projects that The Hill Group has undertaken alongside our partners.

Homelessness, with its multitude of causes, is sadly a growing problem. That’s why we decided to mark our 20th anniversary with a commitment to ease the current crisis and help people living on the streets to rebuild their lives.

The whole business is taking huge pride in delivering these initiatives, and while we will not solve the problem on our own today, we are taking a big step in the right direction, which we hope others will follow.”
