Background: I started my professional life in the catering industry, spending eight years at Queenwood Golf Club before moving into the world of recruitment. Prior to joining TGL, I worked for nine years in recruitment, progressing from a Trainee to Associate Director and delivering recruitment assignments mainly within the UK’s built environment. This spanned Health, Safety & Compliance related roles up to Directors of Operations, Finance Directors and Property Services. A key achievement within my career has been supporting the early adopters of building safety, including L&Q, Peabody and The Guinness Partnership, to name a few.
Expertise: I am currently gaining qualifications within Building Safety and have a deep understanding of leadership roles across housing associations, care providers and charities. I particularly enjoy working with small to medium-sized housing associations, helping them gain access to best practice guidance and mentoring from thought leaders so they can provide the best support to their residents and communities.
Greatest achievement working within the sector: Following the Grenfell Tower incident, I hosted a private meeting with a number of Property Owners, Housing Associations and Sector experts to help share response strategies, process the emerging guidance and review the initial Hackitt Report. Following this, I supported The Guinness Partnership in developing its first Building Safety team, from Director level down to Building Safety Manager. During this period, I also engaged with the CIOB to review pilot content for its new Building Safety Diploma and sat within the UK’s first and largest Building Safety Forum.
Outside of work: I have three daughters, Riley, Blake and Casey, who are great entertainment along with Hugo, the family Spaniel. When I have the chance, I am keen golfer currently holding a +1 handicap so play regular armature opens or county events along with representing the club in matches.
