We have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to be based in Loughton.
The Opportunity
We are working with a highly successful £60m turnover building services contractor who are experiencing strong growth and expanding their commercial team. They deliver mechanical and electrical packages into major new build residential schemes and are looking to appoint an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to support continued project wins.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven QS to join a forward-thinking, growing business with a clear pathway for career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with cost planning, estimating, and tender submissions for M&E packages.
- Measure and value works on site, preparing interim valuations and final accounts.
- Manage variations, claims, and subcontractor payments.
- Monitor project costs and cash flow, providing accurate financial forecasting.
- Liaise with project managers, procurement, and site teams to ensure commercial compliance.
- Build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.
- Provide commercial support across multiple live residential projects.
About You
- 2–4 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within M&E or building services.
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge (JCT / NEC).
- Confident in managing costs, valuations, and subcontractor accounts.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ambitious, proactive, and eager to grow with a fast-expanding contractor.
