I’m working with a well-established contractor who has an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality commercial and industrial schemes across the region. They’re now looking for an experienced Design Manager to join their team and take the lead on a variety of challenging and rewarding projects.
In this role, you’ll be the driving force behind the design process—making sure concepts are not only creative but also practical, cost-effective, and ready to be built. You’ll work closely with architects, engineers, and project teams to keep everything on track from pre-construction right through to handover.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
- Coordinating and managing the design process across multiple stakeholders.
- Ensuring all designs meet regulations, contracts, and industry standards.
- Reviewing drawings and specifications to spot potential issues early.
- Supporting tender stages with technical insight and value engineering ideas.
- Aligning designs with budget and programme requirements.
- Championing safety, quality, and sustainability in every stage of design.
What my client is looking for:
- Strong experience in design management, ideally within the commercial or industrial sector.
- Technical knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM tools.
- Great communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
- A problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detail.
- A solid understanding of construction processes and building regulations.
