McCarthy & Stone Charity Golf Day 2019
In 2019, we participated and sponsored a Charity golf event hosted by McCarthy and Stone South East at Foxhills Country Club.
The day consisted of 18 holes of golf followed by prizes a silent auction, dinner and dancing raising over £20,000 for Coram Beanstalk .
At McCarthy & Stone, charitable giving is very important to us. We create retirement communities that enrich the quality of life of our customers and their families, and at the heart of every community is the local school. One in four children across the UK leave primary school without the skills to read at the expected level, whilst 5.1 million adults in this country are functionally illiterate.

Who Is Beanstalk?
Beanstalk is a UK-wide children’s literacy charity that was established over 45 years ago. They provide one-to-one support to children from disadvantaged backgrounds who struggle with reading. They follow the core values of ‘reading, growing, thriving’, and as well as supporting the nation’s children, they promote the benefits of intergenerational volunteering.
To give you a clearer view of the amazing work they do, last year they provided training and ongoing support to more than 3,700 volunteers who, in turn, offered impactful reading support to over 13,000 children.
