Sustainable living: 51 affordable homes coming to Kent
Golding and Croudace partner to build 51 affordable properties at Hermitage Park
Plans to deliver 51 affordable & sustainable new homes at Hermitage Park has been announced in Aylesford, Kent to be delivered by Housing association Golding Homes and housebuilder Croudace. This latest phase of development will include 31 homes for affordable rent and 20 shared ownership houses, offering a variety of two, three, and four-bedroom properties. The project is set for compleition by June 2026.
Since its establishment in 2004, Golding Homes has invested over £283 million into regenerating homes and neighbourhoods. The association focuses on creating safe, secure homes and fostering communities where people choose to live.
The Maidstone-based housing association has collaborated with Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council and Croudace to create a tenure mix that meets local needs. Sustainable features such as air source heat pumps and electric vehicle chargers will be included in all homes, while the development will also boast open green spaces with a net biodiversity gain of 20%.
Tom Casey, director of development and strategic asset management at Golding Homes, expressed his excitement about continuing the partnership: “We’re delighted to continue our partnership with Croudace for 51 new affordable homes on the Hermitage Park scheme.”
Affordable housing with a focus on sustainability
The new homes at Hermitage Park will consist of 22 two-bedroom houses, 35 three-bedroom homes, and four four-bedroom properties. This phase builds on Golding Homes and Croudace’s existing work at Hermitage Park, where 150 homes have already been completed.
Matthew Norris, managing director at Croudace Homes – South Thames, highlighted the broader impact of the project: “We are extremely proud of the growing community at Hermitage Park, where we continue to deliver a range of quality homes to meet a critical local need for safe and well-designed places for people to live.
In total, this includes the delivery of in excess of 280 new affordable homes across the development as a whole, in a mixture of affordable rent and shared ownership units. In this light, it is particularly pleasing to cement our ongoing partnership with Golding Homes to deliver this latest phase of 51 affordable homes.”
The new homes aim to provide affordable and sustainable housing, thereby enhancing the growing community at Hermitage Park. This is a positive step forward in line with recent government reforms aimed at addressing the housing crisis and promoting sustainable communities.
