We have an excellent opportunity for a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established SME main contractor based in Milton Keynes.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in Quantity Surveying. Whether you have up to a year’s experience in a Trainee QS role or come from a strong construction administration background, this company is looking for someone who is highly organised, IT savvy and eager to learn.
Working within a close-knit commercial team of three, you will receive hands-on mentoring and training from an experienced Quantity Surveyor, gaining exposure to all aspects of the commercial process. As your experience develops, you will progress into managing your own live projects.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the commercial team.
- Assist with subcontractor enquiries, quotations and procurement.
- Help prepare valuations, cost reports and commercial documentation.
- Maintain accurate project records and commercial files.
- Support with contract administration and project reporting.
- Learn the full Quantity Surveying process with the opportunity to progress into managing live projects.
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a Trainee Quantity Surveyor role (up to one year) or a construction administration background.
- Highly IT literate with strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a small team.
- Positive attitude with a genuine desire to develop a career in Quantity Surveying.
- Full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
