Working alongside the Senior Development Manager and wider leadership team, the Assistant Project Manager will support the day-to-day delivery of a portfolio of low-carbon residential developments across North London and Hertfordshire.

This is a client-side role requiring a proactive approach to programme management, consultant coordination and site delivery. You will monitor progress, identify emerging risks and help resolve live project challenges while ensuring each scheme maintains its design, quality and sustainability objectives.

Project Delivery & Coordination

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities between contractors, consultants, statutory authorities and development partners.
  • Monitor master programmes, critical milestones and emerging risks relating to programme, budget and sustainability.
  • Organise multidisciplinary design meetings, track actions and ensure information is delivered on time.
  • Support projects through planning, construction, completion and customer handover.

Commercial & Contract Management

  • Support the administration of JCT contracts, including payment applications, variations and cost reporting.
  • Work closely with commercial teams to monitor project expenditure and potential cost risks.
  • Prepare progress reports, programme updates and board-level information for internal and external stakeholders.

Sustainability & Technical Delivery

  • Help ensure architectural, structural and MEP designs meet the required quality and low-carbon standards.
  • Monitor sustainable construction measures, including embodied carbon, circular economy performance and modern methods of construction.
  • Support planning condition discharges, Section 106 obligations, Building Safety Act requirements and utility connections.

Site Quality & Handover

  • Undertake regular site inspections to review progress, build quality, health and safety standards and design compliance.
  • Coordinate commissioning records, snagging, purchaser inspections and completion documentation.
  • Support the transition of completed developments into customer care.

Key Attributes & Experience

  • Previous experience within residential project management, an Employer’s Agent practice, multidisciplinary consultancy or property developer.
  • Understanding of JCT contracts, residential development lifecycles and construction procurement.
  • Exposure to sustainable building methods, such as embodied carbon, Passivhaus, timber construction or MMC.
  • Confident coordinating consultants, contractors and technical meetings.
  • Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
  • Progress towards APM, CIOB or RICS accreditation would be advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel and digital reporting tools.
  • Organised, self-motivated and comfortable working within a growing, entrepreneurial developer.
