We are partnering with an agile, well-capitalised SME developer based in South West London with an active pipeline. This particular appointment focuses on a flagship £300m GDV mixed-use scheme comprising a luxury hotel and villas.

With planning granted and finance already in place, the Senior Development Manager will take a lead role in driving the project forward. You will be responsible for navigating the final legals, overseeing the transition into the build phase and maintaining rigorous control over the project numbers to ensure commercial success.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a pivotal part in the full delivery lifecycle. This is a hands-on position requiring a professional who can balance high-level strategic oversight with the granular detail of site-level execution. You will coordinate consultant teams, internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure the project is delivered to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Execution: Lead the delivery of a major hotel and villa scheme, ensuring milestones are met from post-planning through to completion.

• Legal & Transactional Management: Drive the legal process, managing complex documentation and appointments to ensure the project remains on track.

• Financial Oversight: Maintain and update detailed development appraisals, budgets and cashflow forecasts to protect the commercial viability of the £300m scheme.

• Construction Liaison: Work closely with contractor teams to oversee the build phase, ensuring design intent and quality are maintained.

• Consultant Management: Appoint and coordinate multidisciplinary professional teams to ensure seamless integration between design, planning and delivery.

• Stakeholder Reporting: Provide clear, data-driven updates to the board regarding progress, risks and financial performance.

Key Requirements

• Proven Track Record: Demonstrable experience in a Senior Development Manager role within the UK property market, specifically on large-scale residential or mixed-use projects.

• Delivery Focus: Strong experience in “driving the legals” and overseeing the construction phase of a project lifecycle.

• Commercial Acumen: Exceptional financial modelling skills and a deep understanding of development numbers.

• SME Adaptability: The ability to work effectively within a lean, fast-paced developer environment.

• Local Knowledge: Ideally based in or within easy reach of South West London to facilitate regular site visits.
