Required background: Housebuilding
We are working with a leading, fast-growing independent hotel group based in London, renowned for offering unique, well-located, and affordably priced hotels that reflect the character and spirit of their local communities to onboard an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead on the financial management and control of construction projects.
This includes cost planning, value engineering, procurement, contract administration, risk management, and ensuring profitability throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
- Monitor and control project expenditure against budgets.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and cost reports.
- Tendering & Procurement:
- Oversee the preparation of tender documents, bills of quantities (BQ), and pricing schedules.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations and prepare comparative analyses.
- Participate in contract negotiations and appointment of subcontractors.
- Contract Administration:
- Prepare the contract agreement and negotiate with sub-contractors during the pre-contract period.

- Manage post-contract processes including variations, valuations, interim payments, and final accounts.
- Handle claims, disputes, and contractual correspondence in coordination with legal/commercial teams.
- Ensure compliance with relevant contract clauses and legislation.
- Project Management Support:
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align financial planning with project objectives.
- Advise on cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
- Attend project meetings and provide commercial input.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all commercial activities.
- Prepare regular commercial and cost reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support audit processes and ensure documentation is audit-ready.
