Countryside Properties to double the number of homes it produces annually over the next five years, with plans to build their own modular housing factory to drive growth.
The company will invest £6m in a new timber frame factory in Warrington with an expected output of 1,500 homes a year.
With their Partnerships division continuing to grow, they now contribute 71% of the total number of completions and 56% of its profits.
The FTSE 250 company built 1,655 homes in six months to the end of March, helping to deliver a 14 per rise in revenues to £398.8m and a 22% rise in pre-tax profits to £73.3m.
Ian Sutcliffe, Chief Executive, said he wanted to increase the supply of homes by 20% this financial year compared with 2017’s number of 3,389 dwellings. He aims to be completing 9,000 homes annually within the next five years and this would put Countryside among the UK’s biggest housebuilders.
Countryside shares closed up 1.4 per cent at 375¼p.
